GREEN STAR HOSTS TOUR OF LANDFILL
As part of its ongoing Brown Bag series, Green Star will host a tour of the Anchorage Regional Landfill and the other services offered there on Wednesday, April 16th. The tour will be led by Keith Howard, Manager of Engineering and Planning with the Municipality of Anchorage’s Solid Waste Services.
The tour will include a ride through the landfill to view the working face, closed areas, and the leachate collection system, as well as a tour of the household hazardous waste collection facility and its hazardous materials reuse program, and the recently opened community recycling drop-off area.
To join the tour, meet at the Northway Mall parking lot, near the Hewitt’s Drug entrance at 11:30am on Wednesday, April 16th. A Princess Tours coach will leave the parking lot at 11:45am and return to the same lot by 1:15pm. The actual tour will be from 12noon until 1pm.
