DINE OUT FOR EARTH DAY
Six local restaurants and cafes will donate a portion of their proceeds on Earth Day, this Monday, to Green Star in support of local waste reduction and recycling activities. “This is a great way to have fun celebrating Earth Day and support Green Star as we assist local businesses to reduce waste and recycle,” said Sean Skaling, Executive Director of Green Star.
Participating restaurants are the Bear Tooth Grill & Theatre Pub, Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria, La Mex, Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse, Café Del Mundo, Side Street Espresso, and Snow City Café. A portion of Monday’s sales—typically 10 percent—will be donated to Green Star to assist and recognize local businesses that reduce waste and recycle. Green Star’s services also include an Air Quality Award, a Green Events program and free technical waste assessments for enrolled businesses. The non-profit is also co-organizing a major recycling effort at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer this summer.
