Green Star, an Anchorage-based nonprofit organization dedicated to rewarding waste reduction, pollution prevention, and energy conservation efforts, has awarded Corporate Express Alaska the Green Star Award for commitment to environmental responsibility. Companies must comply by at least twelve of the eighteen Green Star Standards to receive the Award. Corporate Express Alaska has a strong environmental policy that includes an extensive recycling and energy conservation program. In a recent inter-office spring-cleaning, Corporate Express collected over 6,000lbs of recyclable material in their Anchorage office. This impressive effort in Alaska has now become a Corporate Express national policy. In a ceremony before the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, Corporate Express Alaska was given the Green Star Award today, May 14, 2001.
