Green Star Job Openings Green Star Member Relations Coordinator Green Star is seeking an outstanding, professional, and outgoing person to serve as Member Relations Coordinator, the primary liaison between Green Star and Anchorage area businesses that are seeking or have achieved Green Star’s green business certification. Selected candidate will coordinate a wide variety of membership-related activities, which are integral to the function and success of the organization. Desirable Qualifications:

About Green Star Green Star is a green business certification program started in Anchorage in 1990. Green Star provides assistance and recognition to businesses that seek and achieve Green Star’s high voluntary environmental standards. Any Anchorage area business may earn a Green Star certification by satisfactorily completing the Green Star Standards. Green Star is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Recent national and global attention on the advantages of running business in an efficient and environmentally preferable manner, plus the global challenges posed by climate change have generated a high demand for Green Star certification and our other technical assistance services. We are currently building capacity to increase our ability to deliver services to move with the increasing demand. Additionally, Green Star was recently selected by the Nerland Agency to be their annual pro-bono client in 2008 to help us improve our brand recognition and public outreach. We expect to see exciting growth in our membership in the coming years due partially to these increases in demand and our own outreach. The selected candidate will help bring this vision to fruition. Job Description The key function of the Membership Coordinator is to be the liaison person between our member businesses and Green Star. Membership duties include Green Star Award marketing and member recruitment, assisting members through enrollment and earning Green Star certification (with technical assistance provided by other staff), recertification of members biannually, maintenance of member database and records, process improvement and planning, maintaining and improving member benefits, retaining members, reporting membership results, and assisting technical assistance staff with business on-site assessments. Other duties will include management of the Alaska Materials Exchange online resource matching service, and assisting on a variety of other projects, especially as they relate to member relations.
