Do you or your group or organization want to get involved in a fun community activity? Volunteer for Green Events. As a Green Event volunteer, you will be contacted periodically via email about upcoming events needing volunteers. You can volunteer for as many or as few events as your schedule permits.
Green EventsVolunteer Activities
Depending on the shift you volunteer for, you may be asked to help with several of the following tasks:
*Help transport recycling bins from the Green Star storage area to the event.
*Help label, bag, and set out the bins.
*Help monitor the bins during the event, ensuring that the right materials are going into the right bins.
*Help pull full bags of recyclables and move them to designated storage areas.
*Help collect cardboard, flatten it, and move it to designated storage areas.
*Help to consolidate the recyclables at the end of the event and move it to the recycling center.
*Help weigh the materials so that we can track the success of each event and the Green Events program in general.
*Help transport recycling bins back to the Green Star storage area.
