Green Star Awardee Success Stories Snow City Cafe
Snow City Cafe received its Green Star Award on November 29, 2006, during a Restaurant Education and Vendor Fair, hosted by Green Star. Snow City has incorporated numerous waste prevention and energy efficiency initiatives, including a remodel that replaced overhead T-12 lamps with super-efficient T-5 lamps. Not only do they save money but they look much better! Snow City also prevents waste by reusing one-sided office paper for order pads and offers customers a 25¢ discount on beverages if they bring their own mug. Employees are asked to use real cutlery for their shift meals and customers are offered complimentary coffee while waiting for a table in a real mug.
