Iris Currey, with ACAT, accepting the Green Star Award for that organization from Green Star's Executive Director Sean Skaling.

A Green Star Award was presented to Alaska Community Action on Toxics (ACAT) on November 1, 2004. ACAT purchases 100% recycled content, non-chlorine-processed office paper for their own use, and for sale to others. ACAT also has an organic garden located at Steller Secondary School. For the last three years, ACAT has partnered with the Stellar School to landscape the garden area and to grow produce organically and without pesticides. The organic produce grown in the garden is not only enjoyed by all those involved, but is also donated to non-profits such as the Kid’s Kitchen and the Alaska Injured Workers Alliance.
